Another month down, and more great titles added to my list. I read ten books this month and I can thank audiobooks and long dog walks for more than half of my reading. I need more time in the day and less distractions so I can read all the books on my TBR, so until that happens, I love having the freedom to listen and multi-task.
Surprise Standouts this month: SPECTACULAR THINGS was such a good book. I really enjoyed it. I find Reese’s Book Club very rarely goes wrong, and this was no exception. I will be looking into Beck Dorey-Stein’s backlist to see what else she’s written. Also, THE HAPPY WRITER was useful and motivating and quick to read.
Random Stats: Six of these authors were new to me and three of them I’m quite familiar with their backlist.
This month, I read another book from my Books I’m Excited to Read in 2025 list. MY FRIENDS by Fredrick Bachman. He’s a go-to author for me. Ever since BEARTOWN, I’ve been hooked. Another great character-driven novel. I’d recommend it to anybody.
Two for twelve…. I do need to get on this list if I want to check them all off this year.

What was your top read of July? Let me know in the comments below.
Great list, Kelly! I have SPECTACULAR THINGS and WILD DARK SHORE on my summer reading list, too. In July, I read 14 books and there were two standouts that I would recommend... THE DEPARTMENT by Jacqueline Faber (her debut novel) and THE LAST FERRY OUT by Andrea Bartz. If you get a chance you should check them out; they were both fun and entertaining reads.
